 <p>文本簡介與進行方式：<br>裴爾士(Charles S. Peirce\, 1839-1914)是實用主義(pragmatism)的主要奠基者，被公認為是美國本土最具原創力的哲學家之一，在哲學的眾多領域皆有原創性的貢獻。 Hookway鑽研裴爾士哲學二十餘載，致力將裴爾士哲學與當代哲學議題關連起來，他相信裴爾士的哲學思想對於當代的哲學議題仍可能提供不同的思考角度、 帶來有價值的貢獻。本讀書會將閱讀Hookway這本論文集十二篇文章中的前六篇，討論主題包括裴爾士著名的真理理論、他的真理理論與他關於邏輯、指涉 (reference)與表徵(representation)之主張之間的關係、以及他的「科學形上學」(scientific metaphysics)。有興趣參加本讀書會者，請於6月底前跟鄭喜恆老師聯絡以取得文本以及更多資訊。</p>
