The Department of
Philosophy at National
Taiwan University
invites applicants for positions of professor, associate professor, and assistant
professor. Appointments are effective from
August 1, 2009.
Qualifications: Ph.D. in Philosophy or
related field.
Specialization: Applications are
preferred in either one of the following fields:
(A) Chinese Philosophy: Confucian Philosophy, Taoist Philosophy, Chinese
Buddhist Philosophy, I-Ching Philosophy, Modern & Contemporary Chinese
Philosophy.
(B) Western Philosophy: Greek Philosophy, Contemporary Anglo-American
Philosophy, Ethics, Metaphysics, Epistemology, Logic.
Applicants must be capable of teaching in Mandarin and prepared to offer
compulsory courses as well as advanced courses in their own specialized fields.

the applicants of assistant professor, the transcript of Ph.D. is required.

Curriculum vitae.

Publication list.
(4)
Description of working
experience and/or special honors (if any).
(5)
Statement of research fields
and academic interests.
(6)
Syllabi of courses offered
previously and courses intended to offer, including compulsory courses in the
department (teaching experience preferable but not necessary).
(7)
Four copies of dissertation or
major publication (after April 2006) and other publications for reference (within
5 years, i.e. after August 2004).
(8)
Two letters of recommendation.
Deadline: All application materials should be received no later than
October 31, 2008. Applicants having no Ph. D.
degree yet should include an official letter certifying the accomplishment of their
Ph. D. oral defense by January 31, 2009 and submit proof thereof no later than
February 15, 2009.
