演講：Notes on the Pre-History of the Mechanical Philosophy

This argues that the mechanical philosophy as a category doesn't apply to people like Bacon, Galileo, Descartes, etc. but was only formed later in the 17thC with Boyle. The larger point was that until fairly late, the opposition to Aristotelian physics was a diverse collection of very different programs which were as opposed to one another as they were to Aristotelianism.
